Unconditional

"Unconditional" - 7/9/19

When a friend whose heart is breaking
Tells you they love you it means that much more
Amidst a soul’s grief, the universe is off axis yet voices
Still somehow ring pure grounded as love becomes
When trials are lost and tribulations numb

Exhausted angel-ghosts no longer possess
The energy to dispossess myth-mists in which they linger
Anguishing no more truth appears a prayerful oasis
Freedom, resurrected, ruefully laces woe’s black boots
Memory’s liberation cupped in palms of unconditional

Amnesty, at long, loving last, tearful taut serenity
